What brought you to the asset-based finance and leasing industry?

I started my career in 2006 as a Co-Op Student with GE Capital Solutions in their Direct Equipment Finance Business. At the time, I wasn't completely sure what I wanted to do upon graduation and thought a three-month placement with General Electric would be a positive learning experience. Looking back, 15 years later I guess you could say that I fell in love with the fast-paced environment and all the wonderful people.

What do you like about working in this industry?

To me, there is nothing more interesting than meeting new people, spending time together and building long-term relationships. I've spent the majority of my career in customer-facing Sales roles and whether it be with a publicly-traded company, a 3rd generation family business or an owner-operator I've been fortunate to meet and work alongside so many successful and talented people. And, most importantly, the work we do matters; our customers value us as true business partners and we play a crucial role in helping them reach their goals.

What motivates you?

In my role as a Sales Leader, I'm constantly focused on supporting our customers and developing our people. As a team, we'll always focus on delivering strong results, but equally important is creating a strong culture and work environment where we support our people, focus on personal development and make sure to have fun. There is nothing more enjoyable than winning as a team.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I'm very excited to have recently joined TD Equipment Finance through the acquisition of Wells Fargo's Canadian Direct Equipment Finance business in May of 2021. My career has been a unique journey to this point as I've experienced the sale of our business twice – initially to Wells Fargo in 2016 and then again to TD Equipment Finance earlier this year. With COVID-19 coming under control, I look forward to getting back into the office with a focus on growing our business and supporting our customers. TD continues to be recognized as one of the world's best employers and has such a strong brand in the market. I'm confident that continued growth and success leads to future opportunities and I look forward to being a part of TD moving forward.

What is your number one travel destination and why?

First, I just want to say how badly I miss travelling. COVID-19 has changed our lives in so many ways and now that we're (hopefully) nearing the finish line of this pandemic I can't wait to safely resume travelling; seeing the world and experiencing new things with family and friends is something we won't take for granted ever again!

Several years ago, my wife and I travelled to Italy to celebrate our first anniversary and going back with our two young children is our top priority. The highlight of our trip was the Amalfi Coast – I'm not sure you can beat the combination of breathtaking views, perfect weather and mouthwatering food. Plus, wine is cheaper than water.
