The CFLA is proud to announce the addition of three outstanding leaders to our Board of Directors. Each brings a wealth of experience, industry insight, and a shared commitment to advancing Canada's asset-backed finance and leasing industry.

 


 

Basil Marcus — President, Foss National Leasing

Basil brings more than 20 years of experience driving sustainable business growth through innovation and strategic leadership. As President of Foss National Leasing, Basil has strengthened its position as a leading force in Canada’s fleet management sector, known for its customer-first mindset and operational excellence. He is recognized for his collaborative leadership style and ability to translate strategy into measurable results. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling and spending time with his family. As he joins the CFLA Board of Directors, Basil brings deep industry expertise, a strong governance mindset, and a forward-looking vision for advancing fleet solutions across Canada.

 

 


 

Yolanda Biswah — President, Canadian Black Book

As President of Canadian Black Book, Yolanda leads one of Canada’s most trusted automotive brands, serving a wide and diverse customer base across the automotive industry. Since joining Canadian Black Book in 2015, Yolanda has held leadership roles in sales, data licensing, and customer experience before being promoted to President. She is an active participant in her community and the automotive industry, volunteering with organizations that help those in need. Yolanda was named one of Auto News Canada’s “Notable Champions of Diversity” in 2022 and works with Accelerate Auto committees to advance diversity and inclusion within the Canadian automotive sector.

 

 


 

Heather Heggie — Managing Director, Volvo Financial Services Canada

Heather is a global finance leader with over two decades across Europe, the U.S., and Canada, shaping strategy, customer financing solutions, and culture within the transportation and equipment-finance industry. She has deep experience in captive finance, leasing, credit, and portfolio management, and is passionate about modernizing how customers access capital to grow their businesses. Heather has led major transformation programs, strengthened retail penetration and portfolio performance, and advanced industry-leading culture and talent initiatives. She is committed to building diverse, high-performing teams and elevating Canada’s influence within Volvo Group’s global network. A devoted mom, avid traveler, and serious lifelong learner, she finds energy in exploring new cultures and creating meaningful experiences with her two boys.

 

 


 

With the addition of Basil, Yolanda, and Heather, the CFLA builds on the strength of our Board to deliver even greater value to our members and the industry.
