On May 3, 2023, the Government of Ontario announced ⇒ its latest efforts in fighting auto theft by investing $51-million in new measures to help police identify and dismantle organized crime networks and put thieves behind bars. The funding will support first-of-its-kind auto theft prosecution teams to investigate and prosecute criminal organizations that profit from stolen vehicles.

Representation where it matters

We've worked with Canada's leading automotive associations to identify strategies that help prevent auto theft. On March 10, 2023, our President & CEO, Michael Rothe, attended the 2023 Auto Theft Summit to represent our industry.

Why do these efforts matter to members?

Representation is vital to effective advocacy. With four Ontario cabinet ministers, seven police chiefs, and various police boards in attendance, we were able to represent our industry with high-level decision-makers in pursuit of reducing auto theft – a costly issue many of our members face.
