What brought you to the asset-backed finance and leasing industry?

After university, I wanted to work on the trade floor- but not in trading. I ended up doing co-ops in the only two areas that made that possible: DCM and securitization (before I really understood what securitization was). I found the work interesting and the people even better. I've been in structured credit ever since.

What do you like about working in this industry?

It's one of the few places in finance where creativity still has room to breathe. You're solving complex problems, but you can approach them from different angles. It's structured, but not rigid and that balance keeps things interesting.

How do you overcome the challenges you face at work?

I remind myself that everything is figureoutable. Sometimes the fix is technical; sometimes it's just a better conversation. A little patience and a little perspective usually get you there.

What does it mean to you to be a leader, and how do you lead others in your organization?

To me, leadership is about showing up with curiosity and without ego. I aim to stay grounded in empathy and openness- and to create space for others to be heard, challenged, and supported. Titles don't make leaders; energy does!

What would be your dream role in 5-10 years when you are closer to becoming a veteran of the industry?

Hard to define by title, but I'd like to be in a role where I can help shape culture-encouraging collaboration, mentoring newer talent, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions and learning without judgment. The best work happens when smart, humble people bring different perspectives to the table- and I'd love to help make more of that possible.

What is one of your favourite books and why?

How Not to Die by Michael Greger-because I want to work in structured credit forever! Just kidding... definitely not. But I do care about living a long, healthy life.
