What brought you to the asset-based finance and leasing industry?

I began my career in finance and leasing with Blue Chip Leasing, joining as my first full-time role after completing school. Since 2012, I've been immersed in the finance and leasing industry, continuously learning and discovering something new every day.

What do you wish you had known when you started out in this industry?

Over time, I’ve realized how much value there is in fostering connections, as they often open doors to new opportunities and insights. Additionally, I would have benefited from knowing just how dynamic and ever-changing the industry is.

What do you like about working in this industry?

Every deal is different, it keeps things interesting and provides constant opportunities to problem-solve and tailor solutions. I also appreciate the opportunity it has given me to build and grow my team and extend their leasing knowledge.

What motivates you?  

I am motivated by the opportunity to make an impact and continue to the success of my team and as mentioned above, I enjoy problem solve and come up with solutions.

What is your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement is raising and watching my kids grow. Parenting has taught me patience and resilience. It’s a continuous journey that brings out my best self.

How do you feel the industry has changed since you began your career?

The industry has changed a lot since I began my leasing career, there is greater transparency now, improved online platforms and true advancement in technology. Also, customers are now savvier and a deeper understand of leasing.

What do you feel you still want to keep working on?

Personally, I want to continue to improve my public speaking skills.  

How do you overcome the challenges you face at work?

I approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset, focusing on understanding the root cause and breaking it down into manageable steps. Also, having a safe space and great management that supports you tremendously impacts overcoming challenges at work.

What industry is your favourite industry to finance and why?

I love being exposed to all leasing transactions and not generalizing with a specific sector. I love dealing with more complex and intricate transactions.

What is your number one travel destination and why?

Currently with kids, my favourite is an all-inclusive Caribbean beach destination, I love seeing my boys spend hours swimming in the ocean and always eagerly enjoying the buffet.

What is one of your favourite books and why?

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho – Overall great book is inspirational about pursuing dreams, discovering purpose and happiness.

What sports do you play, and why is it important to you?

Since becoming a mom to two boys, I have been expanding my skills and playing football, baseball, and pickleball. I have also been an avid supporter of my older son, who is playing soccer in a rep team.

What do you like to do when you are not behind your desk?  

When I am not behind my desk, I enjoy spending time up north being closer to nature, walking or hiking and enjoying the beautiful Canadian beaches in the summer.
